Tuesday, April 3rd, the public is invited to hear Arlene Blum PhD
THE CHEMICAL CLASS APPROACH TOWARD HEALTHIER PRODUCTS AND PEOPLE
Background: This coming June, MP Catherine McKenna will be bringing to parliament the recommendations coming from the Parliamentary Committee which has been looking to update the Canadian Environmental Protection Act (CEPA).
Since 2014, the Blue Dot Movement backed by the David Suzuki Foundation has been lobbying to include in CEPA the human right to clean air, fresh water, and safe food. By way of a petition to support this call and street sign-ups carried out by volunteers, more than 110,000 people across Canada have stood up to have this right recognized and protected.
In the upcoming talk, Dr. Blum will include her thoughts on Canada’s Environmental Protection Act and the right to a healthy environment being embedded in our legal system.
